Krystall Barnes, originally
from Montana, now makes her home in southeastern Oklahoma. Krystall's' work has been in numerous local and
national juried shows and is part of collections around the U.S. She is
also a signature member of the Montana Watercolor Society.![]() Krystall studied art at Montana State University-Billings. "My paintings reflect my love and respect for nature, which developed in my childhood years spent in the beautiful forests and beaches in Montana and Washington state...my representational paintings are really about emotional growth and overcoming the pain of the past. My paintings express my eager acceptance of the duality of life: positive coming from negative, beauty coming from ugliness and pain." |
![]() "My infatuation with painting began in 1980, when I was a senior in high school. At every possible opportunity, I made my way over to my art teacher's desk and intently watched him paint while my fellow students worked on drawing assignments. He gave me my first painting lesson that same year, as he tutored me in another crowded art class. In 1993, I was finally able to pick up a watercolor brush again in college and study the medium full-time as an art student in Montana. Painting has been my passion ever since." ![]() |
